Happy Mothers Day

I was hurt
Bruised me knee,
Wounded my elbow
You looked away
You taught me endurance
You made me see I had nothing
I was nothing
You made me build MYSELF
I wanted to cry and sob and tell my woes
You had something else to do
You taught me self reliance
I wanted this, I wanted that
You had better things to do
You taught me independence
You wounded me, hurt me
And did not look nor gave solace
You taught me to trust in myself
Depend on myself
Not to look unto others
Lest compulsion forces them
Not to comply and I am left empty
With a sense of being abandoned
I filled my self with my strength, confidence
